Fake Rumors: Preity Zinta's Response to the Loan Controversy

Source Credit: NDTV

Bollywood star Preity Zinta found herself in a mess after the Kerala Congress party said she got special treatment from collapsed New India Cooperative Bank. They accused her of getting an Rs 18 crore loan canceled by using her social media for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This claim linked to the bank's failure, implying depositors are now suffering financially.

This all went down on Monday when Kerala Congress posted on X (formerly Twitter), alleging that Zinta had her loan erased for boosting them online. The next day, Zinta strongly denied these claims and criticized the party for spreading lies. The situation took place online, mainly on X, where Kerala Congress made their bold post. Zinta responded there too, refuting what they said and chastising the party.

Preity Zinta was targeted by these false statements while Kerala Congress made those accusations. The busted New India Cooperative Bank also played a part in this matter relating to loan write-offs. Zinta wasted no time addressing this news as she deemed it absurd and harmful. She flat-out rejected any idea of receiving debt forgiveness and pointed out that she paid everything off over ten years ago. Additionally, she scolded the Congress party for dragging her into “mean gossip” tactics meant to attract clicks. She clarified that she handles her own social media with no political dealings involved.

Her response post stood strong against misinformation which is growing concerningly common on such platforms affecting public views. Though later Ontario state congress explained they just shared reports about it; however, Zinta’s comments sent a serious warning about making irresponsible assertions.
